In the glass, a light crystalline golden with a limpid green hue. On the nose, delicate notes of white blossom and lemon rind are enterlaced with hints of bee pollen and fleur de sel. On the palate, intimation of peach, ripe apple, and melon are brightened with zesty acidity, providing focus to the brilliant core of minerality running through the wine and its clean, long finish.

FURTHER NOTES

Our 2021 vintage embraces the classic Germanic roots that led to the planting of Riesling in Nova Scotia.

Harvested in late October, at the very end of an eventful vegetative cycle and growing season, the optimal maturity was enhanced by an evening frost that extracted even more concentration and flavour.

This unique wine underwent a partial yet lengthy indigenous and unaided fermentation, lasting an impressive 10 months. Fermented and aged exclusively in stainless steel vessels, the wine has retained its electric zest in the absence of malolactic fermentation.

The final stylistic destination is a perfect intersection of acidity and unfermented sugar — possessing more residual sugar than other years with a razor-sharp focus that leaves the palates energized with vibrancy, relegating the subtle sweetness to a complementary after thought in the pursuit of balance.

Here is yet another Benjamin Bridge wine that is low in alcohol wine yet significant and extraordinary in-depth and structure. Created in the legendary style of the Kabinett wines growing on the steep slopes of the German Mosel and Saar River, it will be irresistibly delicious in its youth, and it could slowly turn into a monument in the cellar.
