This vintage wine is the concluding chapter of an
eighteen-year opus: Nova Scotia's inaugural
Sauvignon Blanc planting. This plot was audaciously
envisioned through little more than instincts and a
disregard for risk. A cherished undertaking and a
special viticultural request of Benjamin Bridge's
co-founder, Dara Gordon – who passed in 2009 – this
parcel persevered for nearly two decades against all
odds, yielding wines deserving of the stubbornness
and unconditional commitment to grow. Climatic
adversity and quality often intertwine, as reduced
yields can result in heightened concentration. While
this struggling block received its ultimate climatic
setback in February of 2023 a final wine was
made in-extremis in 2022, serving as the swan song
to a defining project in our shared story.
