FURTHER NOTES

The proposition of Piquette is simple: to lessen the alcohol content in an artisanal, low-intervention fashion while retaining the character and depth of the tannins and antioxidants in the grape skins. In many ways, the relationship between structure and grape skins has traditionally been the affair of red wines, fermented on grape skins to extract the colour, yielding a proportionally more robust result than white wines. With that in mind, we felt the synergy and connection between making red wine and Piquette was a natural reunion long overdue. Both lush and light, this complex yet easy-drinking refresher combines some traditional qualities of robust red wines in a significantly lighter style, perfect for the summer season ahead.
