To sip our Brut Reserve, from any vintage, is truly to taste our ambitions, hopes, and dreams in a glass; the raison d’etre of Benjamin Bridge. By definition, the Brut Reserve is made from the best parcels of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with meticulous blending parameters that aim to bring forth a sparkling greater than the sum of its parts, no matter how diminutive the volume. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested and meticulously pressed to maintain the most pristine quality. During blending, the final wine is painstakingly selected from strictly the highest quality barrels before being aged for a decadent minimum of five years on lees prior to final disgorgement and ultimate release. A captivating and expansive wine.
TASTING NOTES
TASTING NOTES
In the glass, a muted golden colour with a flaxen hue. On the nose, notes of toasted brioche mingle with hints of lemon rind and fresh-squeezed lime. On the palate, a similar synergy emerges, akin to a lemon tart combining citrus flavours with baked pastry crust. Tannins and structure from the Pinot Noir add depth and structure to the lingering finish.

FURTHER NOTES
The 2018 Brut Reserve is nothing short of a survival wine, a miracle born of adversity after the historic June 4th frost, when temperatures plunged over 30 degrees in 36 hours to −2°C—the lowest June reading in more than a century. The freeze claimed more than 75% of the province’s grape crop, even as some wineries lit fires in their vineyards. By rare fortune, our most carefully chosen parcels—elevated North Mountain slopes and a block beside the Minas Basin, where elevation and maritime influence extended frost-free periods—were among the few survivors. From this scant yield, a blend of 13% Pinot Noir and 87% Chardonnay proves the truth of viticulture: when vines carry fewer clusters, each berry absorbs more energy, heightening intensity and complexity. After over five years on lees, the result is a paradox of power and finesse, vibrancy and depth—an eloquent reminder that extraordinary quality can arise from the narrowest margins of survival.
