2025 Spring Trio

Welcome to the first trio of 2025! We’re thrilled to kick off a year dedicated entirely to sparkling wines. Guided by the expertise of head winemaker Jean-Benoit Deslauriers, this year’s selections will showcase the artistry of eight vintages in Nova Scotia—each bottle a reflection of unique growing seasons, styles, and techniques.

‘22 Chardonnay Musqué

The 2022 Chardonnay Musqué Ancestrale builds on this aromatic and textural small-lot exploration from 2020 and 2021. This vintage was shaped by a growing season of balance—ample warmth to encourage full aromatic development, yet tempered by cool nights that preserved freshness and vitality. We carefully managed yields and fine-tuned vineyard practices to enhance these qualities. The result brims with floral intensity and ripe stone fruit, reminiscent of Muscat and Gewürztraminer, yet framed by the refined elegance of Chardonnay. A gentle skin maceration before pressing enriched the texture, while native fermentation carried seamlessly into the bottle, creating a delicate effervescence that amplifies its layered complexity.

“In the glass, a signature low intervention haze, with golden-orange reflections. On the nose, an expressive bouquet of lychee and orange blossom intertwines with hints of ripe apricot and passion fruit. On the palate, vibrant flavours of honeydew melon and candied citrus are lifted by a pulse of electric acidity. A textured and layered finish lingers with refined complexity.”

‘20 Blanc de Noirs

Our 2020 Blanc de Noirs is made from 100% Pinot Noir, a grape prized for its depth, structure, and ability to translate terroir with precision. The 2020 growing season was defined by record-breaking warmth, setting new highs for both heat accumulation and growing degree days. This led to an unprecedentedly early harvest, with Pinot Noir picked nearly three weeks ahead of historical norms. The resulting fruit showcased a rare combination of ripeness and freshness, with a natural softness in acidity—a shift also reflected in recent warmer vintages of Champagne. In the cellar, this small-lot wine was pressed with minimal skin contact, allowing the delicate character of Pinot Noir to shine in a pure, luminous expression. A period of aging on lees enriched the texture, adding layers of depth and complexity. The result is an elegant and nuanced Blanc de Noirs, where the natural generosity of Pinot Noir is balanced by the bright, saline freshness that defines our cool-climate sparkling wines.

“In the glass, a pale gold hue with copper reflections. On the nose, ripe orchard fruits are layered with notes of brioche, toasted hazelnuts, and a whisper of wild berries. A subtle, earthy undertone adds depth and intrigue. On the palate, the wine is generous and expansive, with a fine, persistent mousse enhancing the wine’s structure, leading to a long, vinous finish.”

NV Rosé Elevage

While previous releases have focused on extended lees aging and site-specific terroir expressions, this cuvée takes a different approach, pushing the boundaries of time and texture. Aged for an unprecedented five years in small 225L French oak barriques before its traditional method bottle fermentation, this rosé is a study in complexity, where patience reveals new dimensions of depth, integration, and refinement. Crafting a rosé within this framework presented an additional challenge: preserving the vibrancy and freshness essential to the style while allowing the nuanced development of texture and tertiary aromas. Pinot Noir—historically the backbone of the world’s most sought-after rosé Champagnes—takes center stage in this cuvée, its delicate red fruit character evolving into a more layered and expressive profile through its extended élevage. The result is a wine that bridges the freshness of a rosé with the richness and structure found in the finest oak-aged sparkling wines, offering a singular expression of Benjamin Bridge’s sparkling skill set.

“In the glass, a radiant copper-tinged salmon hue, with shimmering brilliance. On the nose, an intricate interplay of wild strawberries and blood orange zest is intertwined with layers of rose petals, toasted almonds, and a delicate hint of baking spice. On the palate, the wine is texturally opulent yet lifted, with a creamy, finely integrated mousse that carries flavours of ripe redcurrant and poached pear. The finish is long and vibrant, unfolding with a saline minerality.”
